PROGRAMS

The Monthly Community Service/Volunteer Credit Hours Program at The Empowerment Workshop (TEW) offers students and individual volunteers an opportunity to earn community service hours by volunteering at concession stands during games, concerts, and events at the Mercedes-Benz Stadium. This program not only provides valuable hands-on experience in a dynamic environment but also fosters skills in teamwork, customer service, and event management.

We offer a variety of programs to help our clients get back on their feet. From job training to mental health counseling, we provide the resources and support necessary to help individuals achieve their goals.

- Open to college students seeking to earn community credit through volunteer work.

- Individual volunteers interested in gaining community service hours while contributing to a vibrant event atmosphere.

- Training Sessions: Volunteers will attend initial training sessions to learn about food safety, customer service best practices, and operational procedures at the concession stands.

- Event Participation: Volunteers will work at concession stands during various events at the Mercedes-Benz Stadium, including NFL games, concerts, and other community events. Shifts will typically range from 6 to 8 hours, depending on the event schedule.

- Reflection and Reporting: After each event, volunteers will be required to submit a brief reflection on their experiences and the skills they developed, which can be used for academic credit requirements.

- College Credit Hours: Participating students can earn college credit based on the number of hours volunteered. 

- Community Service Hours: Individual volunteers will receive documentation of the hours worked, which can be used for community service requirements or personal growth.

- Participants will gain valuable skills, including:

- Customer service and communication skills.

- Teamwork and collaboration in a fast-paced environment.

- Event management and operational processes involved in running a concession stand.

- Volunteers will have the chance to network with other students, professionals, and community members, potentially leading to future internships or job opportunities.
